 Cyber Monday Internet Traffic Spikes 30 Percent

Today, Integra Telecom Inc., a facilities-based, integrated communications carrier for business, recorded an increase in business Internet traffic of 30 percent compared to two weeks ago. The spike in Internet usage includes visits to e-Commerce Web sites as well as e-mail exchanges. It also coincides with the first day back to work for many Americans following Black Friday. Today’s increase in Internet traffic is equal to that recorded by Integra Telecom during the same timeframe surrounding Cyber Monday 2007.

    Businesses now had to acquire their own phone systems and integrate them with the available service from the regional operating telecomplus companies, who still maintained a monopoly on service. With no internal expertise available.
