Google launched their annual Doodle 4 Google competition for K-12 students.  Students are encouraged to use their imagination and creativity to design their own Google Logo.  This year’s theme is “If I could do anything I would….”

The Doodle 4 Google competition is open to all students in U.S. schools from kindergarten to grade 12 (including homeschoolers). Only teachers can submit doodles on behalf of their students.  Doodles will be judged in the following brackets:

  • Kindergarten – Grade 3
  • Grade 4 – Grade 6
  • Grade 7 – Grade 9
  • Grade 10 – Grade 12

This year, a group of “Expert Jurors“, well-known illustrators, cartoonists and animators from organizations like The Sesame Street Workshop, Dr. Seuss Enterprises, The Charles Shultz/Peanuts Museum and Pixar Animation Studios, will be helping to select the 40 finalist doodles as well as attending our awards ceremony to personally meet our winners.

Registration closes at 11:59:59 p.m. Pacific Time (PT) on March 17, 2010, and entries are due by March 31, 2010 no later then 11:59:59 P.M. Pacific Time (PT).

The winning doodle will be featured on our Google.com homepage on May 27, 2010.

2009 Doodle4Google National Winner

Last year’s National Winner of the Doodle4Google Contest was Christin Engelberth.  Her winning entry was titled “A New Beginning”.
