VIZIO Launches $1,000,000 Event
VIZIO to give away $1,000,000 in 55″ HDTVs as a way to thank consumers
VIZIO, America’s HDTV and Consumer Electronics Company, is pleased with the overwhelming response they received from their Super Bowl ad which asserted that if the audience wasn’t watching the Super Bowl on a VIZIO, they had spent way too much. Their “Million Dollar Event” was designed to thank consumers who have made VIZIO a leading flat panel TV brand. Consumer response was so strong that VIZIO has seen visits to their website grow by more than 400%.
“VIZIO HDTVs are more popular and in greater demand than ever,” Says Laynie Newsome, VIZIO’s Co-Founder, V.P. of Sales & Marketing Communications. “Consumers want to save money without sacrificing quality or technology, which is why we continue to be the fastest growing HDTV Company in the US. Unlike other tier 1 competitors, we at VIZIO are growing, we are profitable, we are hiring, and now we are giving away $1,000,000 in HDTVs because we run an efficient operation. This is a remarkable achievement in a time when our competitors are laying off employees and losing millions of dollars a quarter, we are honored to be in a position to give back to loyal American consumers.”
Entries for the “Million Dollar Event” began Sunday February 1, 2009 and run through August 14, 2009. Consumers are encouraged to enter early at www.vizio.com for the best chance to win. “We are giving away $1,000,000 in our biggest and best-performing HDTV in the XVT series. The VIZIO 55″ 1080p LCD flat panel television features a 120Hz refresh rate coupled with VIZIO Smooth Motion(TM) Technology delivering flawless video frame after frame. It is the newest addition to the XVT series delivering high performance with 50,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, 9 total High Definition Inputs, and the latest in audio technology from SRS Labs,” Said VIZIO Director of Marketing Jason Maciel.
The first drawing will be held on Monday, February 23, 2009 and each week thereafter through August 31, 2009. Winners will be chosen weekly at random. There will be 28 drawings in total and the winners will be posted on VIZIO’s website. To learn more about the promotion and to see the official rules, log on to www.vizio.com.

Repair your Vizio! I had a Vizio VX37L that blew it’s main board. I felt as if I had just flushed $450 down the drain. It just stopped powering up. Not even the Vizio logo would light up. Fortunately, I read that replacing the Vizio Main Board (part # 0171-2272-2174) normally fixed the problem. It’s been over 6 months, and my Vizio VX37L HDTV10A is still working like a champ. These TVs are all modular inside. You can normally just replace a bad board yourself. I fixed mine in about an hour and a half and saved $200-$300 by not calling a tech.
